ENB marked the 20th anniversary of Nureyev?s death and the 75th anniversary of his birth with a special tribute programme
In his incredibly busy and peripatetic life, Rudolf Nureyev formed lasting relationships with several big ballet companies. One of them was London Festival Ballet, as English National Ballet was known in the 1970s. As his ties to the Royal Ballet decreased, Nureyev increasingly turned to Britain?s second biggest ballet company for the opportunity not only to perform in London and on international tours, but to stage his own productions. So it?s not surprising that ENB chose to mark the 20th anniversary of his death and the 75th anniversary of his birth with a special tribute programme.
